I’ve always had a hard time answering, What do you want to be/do when you grow up? It wasn’t until the beginning of my freshmen year of college that my career options became clear. At the time, I was an executive assistant for Rachel et Nicole- stylist fashion bloggers. I've done my fair share of editorial pickups to organizing daily schedules. I was even granted the opportunity to participate in NYFW as an attendee. Though working in the fashion world has its positives and negatives, it sparked something in me. That something was to pursue a career as a fashion journalist.
My name is Desiree B and to jump start my career, I became Evolutionary Desires. The fashion and beauty enthusiast. But I soon revamped into Evolutionary Desires, the Kpop lifestyle blogger.
In April of 2016, I began freelance writing for Seoulwave as a media coverage writer. Working with Seoulwave has been pure bliss. Though I'm still new to the company, I didn't expect to be a media coverage writer and attend events on behalf of the company. Everything has happened so fast and I couldn't be happier with how my career is going thus far.
I've interviewed The Barberettes, a doo-wop Korean Indie trio. One of the members wrote Lee Hi's title track "Hold My Hand" from her recent album, Seoulite. I've written coverage for South Korea's rising R&B prince, Dean; g.o.d member and soloist Kim Tae Woo, and more just to list a few.
Not only did I join the Seoulwave team but I began my journey as a freelance stylist assistant. In other words, I would travel throughout NYC to pickup designer clothes for editorial photo shoots. On good days, when I'm not working at Dunkin Donuts, I'd help assist on shooting days. One of my coworkers jokes around about how I'm living the "Carrie Diaries' life" but I'm just exploring my options. I'm only in my early 20s, I should see what I like and dislike, huh?
